A look at what’s coming up during January
On Saturday Rapid beat SC Neusiedl 9:0 in the club's first friendly fixture of 2016. Directly after the match in Vienna, the team bus left the Ernst-Happel-Stadium and set off for Upper Austria.
Shortly after 13:00 the coach pulled up at the Hotel Dilly in Windischgarten, where the team and trainers were personally greeted and welcomed by Hotel patron Horst Dilly. The surroundings at the hotel should prove familiar to most of the Green & White party, with the squad already have completed two summer training camps at the same location. After a light, specially prepared lunch, the boys and staff went hiking for a few hours, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the winter sun. Later in the evening the team got together with the now arrived (injured) duo of Christopher Dibon and Louis Schaub to enjoy an evening meal and round off the day.
On Monday a trip to Alpine Skiing World Cup venue Hinterstoder awaited, where the players and staff chose from a range of activities in which to participate (skiing, hiking etc.) before the whole squad went down to the serious business of a game of curling. On Tuesday Steffen Hofmann and the rest of the lads returned to Vienna.
The next friendly match will take place on the following Friday, with FAC providing the opposition on the training pitches next to the Happel Stadium.
