The start of the summer saw the club once more a hive of activity, not on the pitch, but behind the scenes the wheels were already in motion. The following is a quick overview of what's been going on down in Hütteldorf:Arriving from Sturm Graz is defender Mario Sonnleitner. The 23-year-old has plenty of top flight experience behind him, despite his young age having played more the 200 times for GAK and Sturm. Mario has signed a 3-year-contract with the club and adds further steel to our backline.Another new arrival is 24 year old Christoph Saurer. The attacking midfielder has arrived on a 3 year deal from LASK Linz and is comfortable playing in any advanced postion be right, left or central. Adding firepower in the final third is 20 year old striker Atdhe Nuhiu. Standing 197cm tall the Austrian youngster has a real eye for goal and signed on the dotted line for three years. The U21 International was snapped up from SV Ried and is definitely one for the future. Recalled defensive midfielder Tanju Kayhan has arrived back from Wiener Neustadt while Thomas Hinum completes the list of new arrivals. The 22-year-old is a defensive midfielder and comes to us from relegated Kärnten. Branko Boskovic has departed the club, with Rapid officials unable to come to an agreement with Branko's management company. We wish him all the best for the future. Christian Thonhofer has joined Lower Austrian outfit Wiener Neustadt on a season long loan. Young duo Muhammed Ildiz and Christoph Schößwendtner have gone on loan to Innsbruck and FC Lustenau respectively. The duo will be looking for as much playing time as possible and to gain valuable experience before returning to the club. Away from the on field side of life, it's also summer time in the Rapid Fanshop! Soon brand new and with double the floor space. The new shop is set to open it's doors for the first time soon! There's lots of excellent offers and, as always, a huge selection of Green & White merchandise. A new club Museum will be opening on the site of the old shop, a must visit for all Rapid fans!So to round off we have a bit of information for you about our opening fixtures of the 2010/11 campaign.
