Alfred Hörtnagl informed the club that he would leave the position he has occupied since December 2006 with immediate effect. The club President accepted Hörtnagel's resignation, and the club will now move on without his services. Team Manager Stefan Ebner takes over the day-to-day operations of the role on an interim basis. Alfred Hörtnagl's statement: "I believe I have fulfilled what I set out to achieve with SK Rapid. My aim was to implement a philosophy of recruiting and developing the best emerging talent, and to see them through a restructured system into the first team. As well as sporting success the clubs has also enjoyed commercial development in recent years. There is now a strong set of foundations in place on which the club can continue to build and develop as it moves forwards. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the club, the staff and the fans for an unforgettable time in Hütteldorf. Rapid will always have a special place in my heart and I wish the club every success for the future". SK Rapid thank Alfred for all his hard work and wish him every success in his future career.
