On Wednesday it was not only Mistelbach (2nd division Lower Austria regional league) that lay in wait for our side but also soaring temperatures and an incredible heat. Trainer Zoran Barisic was without a number of key performers in long term injured duo Alar and Schimpelsberger, as well as Sabitzer, Schaub and Wydra who have all recently returned from international duty with Austria. Branko Boskovic, who had only returned to training a couple of days previously was also missing, whilst Terrence Boyd was away with the USA. The returning Stephan Palla was also unavailable for selection due to still nursing an injury picked up whilst representing Admira on loan.Despite the heat an enjoyable spectacle unfolded, with Rapid playing some good pass and move football. After a quarter of an hour Burgstaller and Dibon opened the scoring Burgstaller then got his second with a header (34.), Hofmann set up Trimmel and Bajrami added a free kick to make the half time scoreline 5:0. The margin could have been much greater but the next goals arrived in a second half that brought with it a multitude of changes to the line up. Straight after kick off Mistelbach wrote a chapter in their own folklore, capitalising on a lack of concentration from Rapid to pull one back (46.). The Green and Whites then eased back into their rhythm: Burgstaller made it first 6:1 then 7:1 with the assists going to Grozurek and Pavelic. Bajrami scored another free kick to make it 8:1 (78.) before the ninth and final goal of the evening was scored by Mario Pavelic in the last minute. The team then enjoyed an evening meal together to round off the trip to Mistelbach.  You can see all the goals in brief highlights at www.jawoi.tv/channel/rapidSC Mistelbach - SK Rapid 1:9 (0:5)Mistelbach, 1500 AttendanceGoals: 0:1 Burgstaller (11.), 0:2 Dibon (15.), 0:3 Burgstaller (34.), 0:4 Trimmel (44.), 0:5 Bajrami (45.), 1:5 Mikel (46.), 1:6 Burgstaller (55.), 1:7 Burgstaller (56.), 1:8 Bajrami (78.), 1:9 Pavelic (89.)SK Rapid line up: Novota (46.
