Following the return to Rapid of Brian Behrendt (SV Horn) and Stephan Palla (Admira), two products of the Rapid youth academy who spent last season out on loan, we have strengthened our squad further: on the return to training in the Ernst Happel Stadium, Trainer Zoran Barisic was able to welcome Christopher Dibon into the fold. The 22 year old central defender joins us on a season long loan from RB Salzburg. Dibon (181 cm) was the long term captain of the Austrian U-21's and has also made appearances for the Austrian 'A' team. In 2010/11 he achieved promotion with Admira to the Austrian Bundesliga. To date he has made 26 top flight appearances (including those for Salzburg). He has also scored a top flight goal.Director of Football Helmut Schulte: "We're excited to have brought to the club a robust, young central defender like Christopher Dibon, who is also powerful in the air. We're convinced he'll help improve us, and that he'll develop into a regular starter in our side."Trainer Zoran Barisic: "In Christopher Dibon we have managed to bring a top young Austrian talent to the club. I'm looking forward to wroking with him, as he really adds some strength to the squad!"  Christopher passed his medical last Tuesday, paving the way for him to join his new team mates for the first training session of the pre-season on the following day.At the same time the club announces the departures of firstly Dominik Hofbauer (on loan to Wiener Neustadt) and of Konstantin Kerschbaumer's permanent transfer to SKN St. Pölten.
