Bitter Blow: new signing Andrija Pavlovic injured
Bitterly disappointing news coming out of the SK Rapid summer training camp: after experiencing pain during the early throes of the preparations for the new season, new signing Andrija Pavlovic was taken back to Vienna for a thorough examination. Unfortunately, the results of the scan have revealed a torn muscle in the hip area. The 24-year old Serbian international will not be returning to Windischgarten. The injury, sustained without any contact from a team mate, will not require an operation, but Andrija will now be on the treatment table for the coming months.
Sporting Director Fredy Bickel gave his initial reaction: "The injury is a heavy blow to both Andrija Pavlovic and us as a team. We hope that he can complete his rehabilitation as quickly as possible and without any complications. This difficult news, coupled with the injuries to Giorgi Kvilitaia and Philipp Schobesberger, means we will have to go back into the transfer market. My colleague Christoph Peschek and President Michael Krammer, who is currently with us at the training camp, are also in agreement with this course of action."
SK Rapid Vienna wishes Andrija Pavlovic a speedy recovery!
