On Sunday, Rapid travelled to Südtstadt to take on Admira. A less than happy hunting ground in recent seasons, the Hütteldorfers wretched form against their southerly neighbours continued, as they went down to a last-minute defeat:

On Thursday the Rapid squad returned from their ten-day training camp in the Spanish coastal city of Benidorm. Ahead of the Bundesliga restart – and a mouth-watering clash with old foes Austria Vienna in the 325th capital derby – one final friendly fixture took place on Sunday.
Our second friendly of the Spanish training camp got off to a somewhat inauspicious start: the match officials failed to materialise in time for kick-off, and so willing deputies from each of the teams were required to step forwards.
Saturday’s game in St. Pölten represented Rapid’s final outing of 2017. Goals from Joelinton and Schwab put the Green & Whites in charge at half-time, before a first for Berisha and further strikes from Joelinton and Schwab completed a 5:0 rout.
On Saturday, Rapid welcomed Mattersburg for the final home game of 2017. Despite creating a slew of chances, Rapid fell 0:2 behind before fighting back to claim a point thanks to goals from Joelinton and Prosenik.
