"From the Danube…": Our New Away Shirt is Revealed
On Wednesday afternoon, with wonderful sunshine, a great atmosphere and plenty of media interest, we invited guests to Hütteldorf: Although the event was positioned in front of Rapid's emblematic home building, the action also took place on it! Upon the command of presenter Lukas Marek and in the presence of our two managing directors Christoph Peschek and Zoran Barisic, we revealed an amazing oversized jersey (check out the photos). This reveal was a very special one, as it was the first time our new away shirt had seen the light of day. Measuring 6x10m, it arched (almost proudly) over most of our main entrance, a real eye-catcher! In the classic striped design of kit-supplier Adidas, you can see the original colours from our foundation - and from now on you can also get your hands on one for yourself in our fan stores and online at rapidshop.at!
Not only were Christoph Peschek ("I always liked to wear our jerseys during my physical education at school") and Zoran Barisic ("As a player I was always very reluctant to change the Rapid shirt") left very impressed, but also a delegation of our players, who performed their duties together for the first time this season under the leadership of captain Dejan Ljubicic. Taxi Fountas, Mario Sonnleitner, Leo Greiml, Ercan Kara and Koya Kitagawa were the others to proudly don the new uniforms. All of this was done under the slogan of our new campaign "From the Danube, to the Inn...always and forever Rapid Wien!”
Following the jersey presentation at Gerhard-Hanappi-Platz, we invited the media to a press conference ahead of the league kick-off which will take place just next-door, as well as a general overview of all-things business and sports. And all that was before Business General Manager Christoph Peschek, together with Klaus Schörghofer, Chairman of the Board of Brau Union Österreich representing our new premium and beer partners Gösser, performed the traditional beer-tapping. All this will be continued with the club’s Greenie Day and the Open Day, but these are stories worth keeping for another day. Amazing images from a happy day in Hütteldorf!
