Christoph Lang Transfers to LASK
23-jähriger Steirer zieht von der Bundeshauptstadt in die oberösterreichische Landeshauptstadt:
After just over a year at SK Rapid, Christoph Lang is moving around 180 kilometres to the west. The former ÖFB U-21 international, who came to Hütteldorf from SK Sturm (via a loan spell with TSV Hartberg) January 2024, has signed for LASK.
Last year, Christoph ‘Chicko’ Lang made 31 appearances in Green & White (22 in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, five in the ÖFB Cup and four in Europe), in which he scored five goals (two each in the league and European competition and one in the Austrian Cup). In the current season, the attacking player scored in the two home games against Braga and Trabzonspor in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers and appeared in 15 games, mostly as a substitute.
SK Rapid and LASK have now agreed on the transfer terms and the 23-year-old Styrian, who last year signed a contract in Hütteldorf until the 2026/27 season, is moving to the “steel city” with immediate effect.
Managing Director for Sport Markus Katzer commented on the transfer: "Christoph Lang has had relatively little playing time with us in recent months, which was naturally unsatisfactory for him. It is therefore positive for everyone that we have now found a solution for the future together. I would like to thank “Chicko” for his commitment and I can well imagine that under Markus Schopp, who already had him under his wing in Hartberg, he will get more game time than he did with us in the autumn."
Christoph Lang himself said: "Even if things haven't gone as I had imagined over the last few months, I wouldn't want to have missed the time that I spent at Rapid. I was able to gain a lot of valuable experience here and would like to thank the fans for their great support."
