Skrapid.at: Jan, what do you know about SK Rapid?Jan Novota: Plenty! In the past years I've heard a lot about Rapid. When I was a kid we had ORF (TV channel) at home so I obviously watched lots of Bundesliga matches. I know that Rapid is a very successful club and I'm delighted to have ended up here in Hütteldorf.Last season was a dissappointing one for our club that failed to meet expectations. What are your expectations as a Rapid player?I've heard that last season wasn't the best for Rapid. However sometimes a club goes through these phases, it's not an unusual situation. Of course we all hope to do better this time around and make it a season we can all be proud of. What's your opinion on Austrian domestic football in general?I think that the standard is getting higher and the quality is improving all the time. All of a sudden there's a few clubs who can realistically challenge for first place. I think this season presents an exciting prospect for us. A few words for the fans perhaps?I can only state again that its a real pleasure for me to be at Rapid Vienna. I'll give my all and fight alongside my team mates to make sure Rapid return to the top where we belong. It would top it all off when the fans are happy with me too!(gw)
