Dejan Ljubicic returns to Vienna

Midfielder Dejan Ljubicic was granted permission to leave SK Rapid's training camp in Belek last Sunday to hold talks with a possible new club. Since no agreement could be reached regarding the conclusion of any potential deal, the 22-year-old has returned to Rapid. The Austria U21 player was only able to complete part of his planned off-season preparations due to a muscle injury, and he was not able to feature in any of our winter friendlies. 

Without Dejan Ljubicic or new signing Dejan Petrovic, SK Rapid had their final test match against SV Horn on Saturday at the training centre of the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, the game finished 1-1. That was the final run-out before the Bundesliga restart, which will take place on February 16th for the Green and Whites with a home game against WSG Tirol, the last game featuring legendary stadium announcer Andy Marek on the microphone.
