Ferdy Druijf auf Leihbasis zu PEC Zwolle
Personnel news from Hütteldorf: Ferdy Druijf will play on loan in his homeland next season. The 25-year-old forward is moving to PEC Zwolle, the promoted runners-up in the Dutch second-division last season, who start their Eredivisie campaign on August 12th with a home match against Sparta Rotterdam.
Ferdy Druijf came to Hütteldorf in February 2022, initially on loan from AZ Alkmaar, from whom he had previously spent a year on loan at KV Mechelen. In July of last year, the then Rapid head coach identified Ferdy as a desired signing, and he received a contract until the summer of 2025. In his time at SK Rapid so far, the amiable attacker has played 43 matches in which he scored 13 goals (8 Bundesliga; 3 European and 2 ÖFB Cup).
Managing Director of Sport Markus Katzer commented on the loan deal, the terms of which were not disclosed: "For Ferdy Druijf, this loan to his home country is a great opportunity to get more playing time. For various reasons, he only played a full 90 minutes on three occasions in the past season. In Holland, he will be integrated immediately and we will closely monitor his development in a very good league over the coming season. I would like to thank Ferdy Druijf for his commitment to our club so far and wish him personally and on behalf of SK Rapid all the best for the coming season.”
