Nicolas Kühn Completes Move to Celtic FC
All formalities have now been completed, and SK Rapid can confirm the transfer of midfielder Nicolas Kühn to the Celtic Football Club in Glasgow.
Kühn, who turned 24 on New Year's Day, joined SK Rapid from FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 after a season on loan at then German second division side Erzgebirge Aue and has since made 51 competitive appearances for the Green and Whites, scoring seven goals and assisting a further ten.
The former DFB U20 international traveled to the UK on Sunday with the permission of SK Rapid and has already successfully completed all medical checks. An agreement has also been reached on the transfer terms with the player's management and those responsible at Celtic. As usual, the parties have agreed not to disclose any further details.
Managing Director of Sport Markus Katzer said: "Nicolas Kühn is a valuable player who is leaving us and I personally, and on behalf of our club, would like to wish him all the best for the future. I hope he can realise his undoubtedly huge potential even better in Scotland than he did with us. Nic really wanted to take this next step in his career. In the end, the conditions were also right for us, so we granted his transfer request."
Nicolas Kühn himself spoke regarding the move: "Unfortunately, great sporting success for my team-mates and I didn't materialise in the one and a half years I spent here, but I was still able to experience a wonderful and valuable time at SK Rapid. I will continue to follow the club and keep my fingers crossed that the fans will have plenty of reasons to cheer in the future. My thanks go to all the coaches, my team-mates, the support staff and the employees."
