Nikolas Sattlberger Seals Belgian Move
With all paperwork completed, SK Rapid can now officially confirm that midfielder Nikolas Sattlberger will move to KRC Genk in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League, with immediate effect. Nikolas (born 18th Jan, 2004) arrived at Rapid from the youth team of First Vienna in January 2018, joining our youth academy, and going on to make his professional Rapid debut in the summer of 2022.
In total, the Austria U-21 international played 44 competitive games for the club, with a further 31 appearances and one goal for Rapid’s second team in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
Director of Sport Markus Katzer said the following about the transfer: „Nikolas Sattlberger is a very talented player who we would have been happy to keep for longer. In the end, despite what we saw as a very attractive offer from our side, the two parties didn’t reach an agreement, and therefore we can welcome a transfer to a good international destination. We were able to reach an agreement with those responsible at Genk on fair financial terms, and I wish 'Satti' personally and on behalf of SK Rapid every success at his new club. He has made good progress in our youth academy, and last season he became a regular in the senior team and also made it into the U-21 national team. Nikolas is therefore an excellent example of the development that our training can offer, and I hope for both of us that he continues on this successful path in his future career."
