Rapid headed across town to face their city rivals Austria with high hopes. The three points would be crucial, as always, to win city pride, but also in the race for the Bundesliga crown. Unfortunately it wasn't to be a point is never the worst result in the Generali Arena, but the Green & Whites made their way back to Hütteldorf with a feeling of what might have have been. The hosts were the quickest out of the blocks but fairly soon Rapid had regained their composure and were edging their way back into the territorial stakes. Chances were proving difficult to come by at both ends the best chance fell to Atdhe Nuhiu but his header easily cleared the crossbar. The largely uneventful half drew to a close with neither side looking likely to forge ahead. Markus Katzer left the field prematurely with a thigh problem. Thomas Schrammel came in for him at left back. Both teams attempted to up the tempo in the second half, but the game remained congested. Neither side could find enough space to operate in, and when a chance did present itself the end product was usually lacking. Gorgon and Mader both had sights of goal for Austria but couldn't find a finish, while a dangerous cross from Suttner was just lacking someone rushing into the box to apply the vital touch. Rapid mustered a solitary Christopher Trimmel shot by way of a response. Another Rapid player was then forced to leave the field when Boris Prokopic suffered a nasty cruciate ligament injury. We wish Boris all best for a successful operation and a speedy recovery. Suddenly in the final minute Deni Alar broke clear through on goal the young striker had the chance to make himself a hero but he was squeezed out and the chance passed. The game finished 0:0, a result that neither team can really have many complaints about. tipp3-Bundesliga, 30th roundFK Austria - SK Rapid 0:0Generali Arena, 12.919, Referee LechnerFK Austria: Lindner - Klein, Rogulj, Ortlechner, Suttner - Dilaver, Mader - Gorgon, Jun (66.
