SK Rapid is happy to be able to bring the first Green & White Century Project update of the new year. Building work on the new ground is due to commence and will be marked by a ceremonial first dig: the foundations are set to be laid for the new Allianz Stadium.Contractor STRABAG, responsible for the demolition and building work, are successfully continuing to work on the ambitious time plan for SK Rapid's new home. The daily working hours on the Green & White building site will shortly be extended. In the coming weeks the last traces of the Gerhard-Hanappi-Stadium will vanish - except, of course, the one remaining flood light serving as a memory of the old ground. Our neighbours in the immediate vicinity of the building site have already been informed of the project's next steps through leaflets and also on the stadium's official homepage www.allianz-stadion.at: • The demolition work is almost complete and has gone smoothly. In the coming days the rest of the South Stand, which until this point had housed the building site's generator, will be demolished.• Therefore the large digger will be removed. This process legally requires a special overnight transportation. SK Rapid Vienna asks for your understanding with regards the extra noise pollution. • Unfortunately building sites entail unavoidable noise pollution and dust. In order to avoid any unnecessary dirtying of the surrounding areas, a tire wash facility has been installed to clean the tires of vehicles exiting the building site. • STRABAG will shortly commence building work. The Green & White Century Project is then edging closer to yet another milestone and momentous occasion: on 12th February the ceremonial first dig in the laying of the Allianz Stadium's foundations will take place.(gw)
