Venezia to Visit Hütteldorf for a Friendly Fixture

Rapid have an exciting exhibition match on the Allianz Stadium agenda with the game against Union Berlin on Sunday July 20th. More than 13,000 tickets have already been sold, with fans keen to see former Rapid stars Christopher Trimmel and Leo Querfeld back in Hütteldorf.

Now, another interesting opponent has been lined-up for a friendly on home turf during the first international break of the new season. The Green & Whites will host Venezia FC on Friday September 5th at 6pm! The Venetian team are targeting a return to Serie A, and they have a link to legendary Rapid keeper Michael Konsel, who spent his final active season there in 1999/2000.

Large sections of both fan scenes will hopefully be excited about the upcoming fixture! For around a quarter of a century, the Ultras Rapid have maintained a close friendship with the lagoon city in the north-east of Italy. Many Rapid fans regularly visit the unique home ground of ‘I Leoni Alati’ (‘The Winged Lions’), the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo, and in return, Tifosi from Venice are often guests in Vienna.
